Drugs and alcohol are well known for their ability to lower someone’s inhibitions, bypassing the filters that help them keep a rein on their behavior while sober. Money trouble isn’t the only way that it can lead someone into a life of crime. Dodging work responsibilities, spending time high or recuperating instead of going to work, and needing to spend more and more money to obtain enough drugs or alcohol to feel the same feelings can easily lead people to robbery, burglary, or worse as they continue to try to feed their habit. While there are more ways in which addiction can impact a person’s life, these can specifically play into an addict’s likelihood of getting into legal trouble.
